When the park was purchased, the intent was to create a quite RV environment that was close to town yet far enough away from the highway noise and still offer 360 degrees of panoramic views. The resort concept was and always has been for RV owners to have the opportunity to own their lot and/or casita. When the lot is not being used, the owner has the option to put it into a rental pool and generate income. This has been a tremendous success and our owners and guests are pleased with this program. The first year the resort section opened, Portal HOA allowed all RV’s to access the resort. Unfortunately we had many problems and damages to our resort. The decision was made to set restrictions and apply CC&R’s on the resort section. The input that we received was to provide an atmosphere for those who did not want a campground feel. This was always the intended use for the resort. We also saw a need in Moab for a resort that could accommodate the big sized rigs; there is not another campground in the area that was set up to do so. We offer long lots up to 100’, dedicated 200 amp service, and wide asphalt roads for easy in/easy out access. This also does not exist anywhere in Moab. The resort section allows these large rigs to enjoy Moab without having to disconnect. The resort section has a total of 34 lots and we are sold out during all events and peak seasons. Portal RV has kept the campground (north side) for all to enjoy. It has the most beautiful views Moab has to offer along with a quite location. We have provided all the amenities of a campground as well. Our sites offer • 50 amp and 30 amp, full hook up pull through with cable TV • If you are on a budget we also have water and electric sites with cable TV • All sites are long pull through for easy in/easy out access  This year we have the following improvements in our budget and on our agenda for the campground: • Grass and irrigation • Sand volleyball court • Horse shoe pit • Play ground • Stage for concerts and rallies • Remodeling our spring feed swim pond • Sandy beach • Off leash swim pond for your pets • New off leash fenced in dog run I hope this helps you to have a better understanding of our philosophy for the resort and campground, and our intentions and reasons for the restrictions. We have tried to create a place for all to enjoy. There is not a better resort/campground in Moab that offers the views and quite atmosphere as The Portal RV Resort.
